Hafan is an SEMH provision which caters for primary aged pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Through a nurturing and trauma informed approach, we aim to ensure that their educational and therapeutic needs are met, enabling them to flourish both within our school and when they move on.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team who are developing approaches and provision for pupils who have been disengaged and excluded from other schools.

About the role
Pay Details: Teachers Mainscale +SEN allowance
Hours of Work / Weeks per year / Working Pattern: Full Time (Monday- Friday 8.30pm - 3.30pm)
Main Place of Work: Hafan Primary SEMH provision

Description:
This is an amazing opportunity for either primary trained top-quality teachers who already have the skills to adapt their teaching, someone who is prepared and excited to take on something completely different. The role on offer include leading and teaching groups of pupils. The successful candidates will be given the support but also freedom to design an engaging curriculum.

A strong understanding of the needs of learners with social, emotional and mental health needs along with a proven track record in working with pupils who have significant trauma and attachment issues resulting in disengagement and exclusion is essential.

Under the direction of the teacher in charge, you will support the educational development of our pupils in a therapeutic way to ensure their physical, social and emotional needs are met.
Additionally, you will work collaboratively with other school-based professionals to carry out programmes of work.
There are opportunities to support the pupils in a large variety of activities at our other sites, accessing our state-of-the-art facilities.

The successful candidate will have excellent classroom practice, including use of ICT, high expectations of pupil engagement and achievements and a willingness to work as part of a dedicated team that is committed to providing the very best opportunities for all of our pupils.

You will have training in trauma and attachment difficulties and be effective in working with pupils who display these.

You will be required to have an enhanced and barred DBS for both Child and Adult and be registered with EWC.
