Community Pastoral Assistant

Community Pastoral Assistant

Cyngor Sir Benfro
Job Description

Grade 5 - £24,294 for 37 hours per week for 45.8 weeks per annum equating to £21,339.95 pro rata.

Haverfordwest High VC School and St Marks VA School are seeking to appoint a Community Pastoral Assistant. The successful candidate would work with pupils and families from both schools, allocating 3 days of their time per fortnight at St Marks VA School, and 7 days at HHVCS.

The post holder will provide specific support to the RADY Coordinator and Achievement Leaders, to ensure pastoral support is provided to a specific cohort of pupils (efsm/disadvantaged). This will include implementing inclusive strategies to promote engagement with learning and wider school life, and improving attendance by working with children and families whose attendance is below an identified percentage.

This role will therefore support the inclusive ethos of the school, strengthen pupil progress and attainment by helping to minimise barriers to learning by developing pupil resilience, self-esteem and aspirations.

A good standard of education, and an understanding of children/young people's needs and rights together with experience of working with children are essential for this role. If you feel you have the desire, determination and skills to join our team and feel able to meet the significant challenges that will come with the post we would love to hear from you.

We are very proud of the achievements of our students at Haverfordwest High VC school and are keen to share information to help you to make a successful application. You can visit our website for more information about the school or the school Facebook or Twitter accounts.
