Marshfield Primary School is a large, thriving school on the outskirts of Newport. The school is proud of its strong ethos and collective goal: ‘Together, caring, aspiring and achieving.’

The children, staff and Governing Body of Marshfield Primary School are looking for inspirational, forward thinking class teachers to join our teaching and learning team at this highly successful and high attaining primary school.

The Governing Body and Headteacher at Marshfield Primary School are seeking to appoint four excellent primary practitioners to take up post from September 2024.

We are looking for an experienced Year 5 / 6 teacher to join us from September 2024, working on a permanent contract.

We are also looking for an additional three class teachers to join us in September 2024 for a fixed term of one year in the first instance, with the possibility of a permanent contract for the following year.

In its most recent inspection Estyn stated that: ‘Marshfield Primary School is a stimulating learning environment, in which pupils thrive and make good progress…they enjoy learning and have positive attitudes to school life.’

We are looking for somebody who:

• Is an outstanding practitioner to further enhance the excellent teaching at Marshfield School.
• Is a committed team player and role model with proven ability to lead, challenge and empower children and colleagues.
• Is passionate about providing memorable learning opportunities for all children with an inspiring, creative curriculum.
• Is able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the Curriculum for Wales.
• Is innovative, reflective and flexible in their approach
• Is enthusiastic, motivated, and caring – able to nurture children to achieve their potential
• Has experience of working with children with Additional Learning Needs and be able to manage behaviour well;
• Is able to embrace community partnerships and play an active role in fostering good links with parents and all stakeholders.
• The ability to work effectively together as members of our strong school team and contribute fully to the life of the school including extra-curricular activities
• Is able to identify areas of improvement and contribute creatively to help to continue to improve our school
• Has an excellent understanding of ICT both as a teaching and learning tool
• Demonstrates strong Welsh language skills and a commitment to promoting Welsh as a second language.
