School Support Officer (Grade 5) £26,421 - £28,770 pro rata, full time fixed term covering maternity leave 18th March - 25th October (term time)
Lliswerry High School is a thriving, multi-cultural, 11-18 mixed comprehensive school on the eastern side of Newport close to the M4. We currently have an opportunity for an exceptional candidate to join us as a school support officer covering maternity leave until 25th October 2024. Working closely with the rest of the administrative support team you will be responsible for a wide range of duties including:
• Processing of trips, visits and school events
• Administration of the school Parent Pay system
• Administration related to recruitment processes
• Return to work meeting scheduling
• Pastoral administrative support as required
• Preparing the school newsletter
• Exclusions administrative support
• PR and website support
• Other duties as required by the Headteacher or Senior School Support Officer
This list is not exhaustive and the postholder will be required to carry out other duties as required including managing a variety of administrative tasks, many of which are time sensitive or of a confidential nature and candidates will be expected to have superb time management and organisational skills.
Experience of school based electronic systems would be beneficial i.e. SIMS although training can be provided and the postholder will be able to work effectively with a range of office-based systems such as Word, Excel and email platforms. The ability to work under pressure is essential and candidates should be strong team players, able to support and promote the schools core values.
Holidays must be taken during school closure periods. The appointment process will involve an interview with members of the school leadership team and a selection of Governors.
