JOB PURPOSE
The Animal Care technician is responsible for the care of all animals kept for the Animal Care courses. There are a wide range of animals on site including birds, companion animals, commercial animals and exotics. Animals are kept at various specialist locations depending on their requirements and use during the year. Technicians are required every day of the year to ensure animal health and welfare, this includes term time, weekends, bank holidays, technician holiday and sick cover. Effective and accurate communication is essential to ensure continuity of care for all animals on site as care is passed from one technician to another.
