Case Worker - Additional Learning Needs Support Service (ALNSS)

Hours: Full Time 37 hours per week

Location of post: Civic Centre, Port Talbot, SA13 1PJ

We are currently looking for a suitably qualified and experienced person to take on the role of Case Worker within the Additional Learning Needs Support Service (ALNSS).

This is an exciting opportunity at a time of significant change and the successful candidate will work within the wider Inclusion Service to assist the Local Authority in effectively exercising its statutory duties, as outlined in the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Code of Practice for Wales 2002 and the Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Education and Tribunal (Wales) Act 2018. This will include the ongoing administrative support in regard to the Statutory Assessment process linked to pupils with Additional Learning Needs, which encompasses the development and amending of Statements of SEN and Individual Development Plans (IDPs), the undertaking of recording data, updating individual pupil files and using a variety of IT systems and programs.

The post holder will be committed to ensuring the best possible outcomes for Children and Young People with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), through the implementation of a Person Centred (PC) approach and effective collaborative working with wider professionals and partner agencies.

The post is part time and applications are welcomed from professionals with the appropriate experience and qualifications. Ideally, candidates will possess 5 GCSEs (grade A to C) or equivalent to include English Language and Mathematics, and 2 A Levels or equivalent.
