Start Date: 19th October 2026 up to 31s August 2027 in the first instancecovering a secondment
37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
Salary: Level 4, Grade 6, SCP 17-22, £27,686 (per annum) (subject to term time adjustment). The salary stated will be subject to a term time only adjustment for the commencement of employment outside of the start date of 1st September.
The Governing Body wishes to appoint an excellent and highly committed
Teaching Assistant to join the Camau team of staff.
Candidates are required to have experience of teaching children with additional learning needs and BESD. Camau is a trauma informed provision that is child centred and focused.
Camau is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who embodies a positive, 'can-do' attitude and has the ability to inspire, motivate and support young people to achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will be compassionate, caring and adaptable, with a willingness to learn and develop their skills within a supportive and collaborative environment. They will play an active role in delivering a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum, with a particular contribution to vocational learning opportunities that prepare pupils for future success.
As a valued member of a highly collaborative and dynamic team, the successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing design, development and implementation of the curriculum, helping to ensure high standards, positive outcomes and meaningful learning experiences for all pupils. They will support high-quality teaching and learning across the school and act as a trusted pupil mentor, building positive relationships that promote wellbeing, confidence and achievement.

The successful candidate will
• have a proven track record of working successfully with pupils or young
people with BESD;
• be an enthusiastic, self-motivated person with the ability to contribute to a team of dedicated professionals;
• have a commitment and passion for enabling young people to realise their potential and achieve;
• Be a motivated and resilient person who can get the best out of every
young person;
• have excellent people skills with adults and young people;
• be able to deliver lessons, interventions and other supporting practices
with small groups; be able to support across a wide range of subject areas and have knowledge and experience in interventions and vocational subjects;
• be able to work as a 1:1 mentor with identified pupils providing
information towards the pupil education plan and record;
• be able to support young people who have social, emotional behavioural and possible mental health needs;
• Use a person centred approach to support students;
The successful candidate will be:
