The governors of Dylan Thomas Community School wish to appoint two dynamic and inspirational Deputy Headteachers who will work with the Headteacher in one of the following areas of expertise:
• Standards & Curriculum
• Teaching & Learning
• Wellbeing & Pastoral
We are looking for committed professionals who can demonstrate evidence of improving performance and raising standards for every member of the school community. Applicants should have exceptional leadership skills and high aspirations for our students, staff, parents and carers. The ideal candidates will be collaborative leaders, fully committed to the academic success, care and welfare of all our students and staff. The successful candidates must be able to articulate a vision of teaching & learning, standards & curriculum and wellbeing & pastoral that meets the needs of our community.
Dylan Thomas Community School is a happy and safe school where the needs of all pupils are catered for and taken into account. All staff play a key part in ensuring that this continues. Applicants must be able to illustrate a comprehensive understanding of safeguarding in line with Welsh Government safeguarding guidance.

Dylan Thomas is a rapidly growing and successful school with committed staff which has seen a dramatic increase in pupil numbers and significant investment in facilities over the last three years. The school is oversubscribed in nearly all year groups. We have high expectations of all members of our school community with an emphasis on strong relationships and inclusivity.
