Bishop Vaughan Catholic School: Head of History

Bishop Vaughan Catholic School is a very successful, diverse and oversubscribed secondary school. Following a successful recent Estyn inspection, Governors are seeking applications from a well-qualified teacher for the post of Head of History to lead our vibrant History department. Our high performing 11-18 school is placed amongst the Top Ten highest performing state schools in Wales by the Sunday Times Parent Power Guide 2026. Our recent Estyn inspection noted:

The successful applicant will be capable of teaching across the History curriculum up to and the post will include teaching at key stage 5. The post will commence on the 1st September 2026.

You must be capable of motivating and inspiring students of all abilities, and be ready to work collaboratively to enhance our culture of high expectations and attainment.
