The Governors are seeking to appoint a Teacher to be the Learning Leader for our newly designated SCLD STF provision. This is a full time, permanent post from 1 September 2026.

Our Specialist Teaching Facility (STF) is a Local Authority (LA) led Additional Learning Needs (ALN) provision operating at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 designed to meet the needs of those children from 11-16 years old, identified as having Social Communication with Learning Difficulties (SCLD). There are currently 22 planned places. All pupils are in receipt of LA Individual Development Plans (IDP's). This is an exciting and unique opportunity for the right candidate so potential applicants are encouraged to contact the school for further information. Bishop Gore would welcome applicants from a range of educational sectors, phases and settings for this role. Potential candidates will have the opportunity to visit the school and meet the ALNCo during the week beginning 27th April 2026 at 4pm.

The role will require an enthusiastic and highly committed professional teacher who cares passionately about pupils with ALN. They will be responsible for overseeing the strategic development of the STF and the day to day operation of the provision. The successful candidate will need to be positive, resourceful, well organised and innovative, ensuring that all children are supported appropriately and have their individual needs met. Additionally, the ideal candidate would need to have strong communication and team working skills, being able to build and sustain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders from both within and outside of school. The successful person would be a graduate who will have experience of teaching pupils with ALN and be able to lead a small team of dedicated staff effectively. They will have the skill and expertise to provide suitable experiences and opportunities for all pupils in order that they engage, progress and thrive. The teacher will be committed to the core values and visions of the school and will have a strong desire to create a provision that strives to nurture and develop the potential of all pupils. This post will provide an excellent opportunity to develop experience in a dynamic and forward thinking environment.
