As an inquiry-based learning school, you will be able to provide purposeful, authentic learning opportunities that sow the seeds of curiosity and enable children to develop and transfer skills.

Pennard Primary is an inclusive, nurturing, and inspiring learning environment that provides a happy, caring school where everyone is encouraged and supported to achieve their goals. We place the child at the centre of everything we do and pupil voice guides the direction of learning experience and activity.

We would like our applicants to:

  • be committed to providing the best educational opportunities for all children
  • demonstrate an excellent understanding of Early Years pedagogy
  • place pupil health and wellbeing at the heart of their approach to teaching and learning
  • have a good working understanding of Inquiry Based Learning and the passion to develop and lead practice within an Early Years setting
  • be able to take a lead and develop areas of the school improvement plan alongside the SLT
  • demonstrate an understanding of assessment, progression and supporting pupils appropriately towards their next steps in learning.
  • demonstrate a strong commitment to professional learning and reflective practice
  • have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to work closely with, inspire and lead a team to support practice and provision
  • improve standards of learning and achievement for all pupils.
  • make excellent use of the outdoor learning environment on offer in our school and locality
  • work in partnership with parents and to value and utilise parent's contribution to support children's well-being, learning and development
  • have a commitment to working in close partnership with the Headteacher, staff, parents, community, and governors.
  • Candidates will be encouraged to engage in the full life of the school community including extra-curricular activities.

The school can provide
  • A creative, inclusive school with happy children who want to learn
  • Support from a team of energetic staff and governors who work extremely hard
  • A fantastic teaching and learning environment, both indoor and out that nurtures and supports our pupils
  • Professional development opportunities to support your journey as an excellent practitioner.

Pennard Primary School places the highest priority on the safeguarding of children and all applicants will follow a stringent vetting and induction process.
