The Governors of Glan Usk Primary School are seeking to appoint two innovative and inspirational Deputy Head Teachers. The successful candidates will be committed to education and teaching of the highest standard to further the success of this outstanding Primary school and ensure that the school provides the best opportunities for all children.

The Governing Body are committed to appointing two Deputy Head Teacher’s who:

- Demonstrate a passion and a high-level skill set for leading outstanding teaching and learning across the school,
- Lead and promote excellence, equity and high expectations of behaviour, deploying positive behaviour management strategies effectively and consistently,
- Ensure that the well-being of all children is central to all that they do and build a relationship of mutual respect with the pupils, parents, staff, wider community and the Governing Body,
- Show excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills,
- Motivate, inspire and generate enthusiasm in a team environment and have a flexible and positive approach to challenge and change,
- Own a strong professional learning record and articulate aspirations for headship, being able to deputise for the Head Teacher on a regular basis,
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Curriculum for Wales and in its progression and assessment,
- Understand how to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with additional needs or those who are multilingual, have particular talent or are vulnerable,
- Bring energy, enthusiasm, positivity and drive to fulfil the role to the best of their ability at all times,
- Is an inspirational leader who has a clear vision for the partnership.

Governors will support the successful candidates in all aspects of school life thereby creating a practice of effective learning and development throughout the school and its community.
