Hours: 30 hours per week

Location of post: Library HQ, Neath Road, Briton Ferry, Neath Port Talbot, SA11 2BQ

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and physically able person to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the library home delivery service to residents in Neath Port Talbot.

The main duties of the post will be to assist the community services department in providing and delivering reading materials to those who require the home delivery service.

To assist the community services department in providing and delivering reading materials to those who require the home delivery service.

To support the work of the mobile library in delivering the service.

To provide to support to community managed libraries.

To assist in the provision of services to organisations and institutions such as sheltered accommodation, day centres, hospitals and secure units.

To assist in the provision of services to the homeless, travellers and refugees.

To assist in the provision of promotion and marketing of community services through attending events and organised activities.

To collect and provide statistical data relevant to community services.

To assist the Community Services Librarian with daily duties and stock management.

To undertake clerical duties relevant to the department.

To support branch libraries as and when required.

To undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as required by the Library Service Coordinator.

You will have experience of working in a library environment and with a Library Management System.

You should possess good communication skills and be able to converse with the public, showing compassion and empathy of others.

A good standard of education is required and you m ust hold a minimum of 4 GCSEs, or equivalent, including Maths and English
