The role:
To provide short term supervision of classes in the event of the (planned or unplanned) absence of the teacher, ensuring that learners are engaged in pre-set work, managing behaviour and ensuring a safe environment.
- Full time (37 hours per week)
- Term time (36 weeks per annum)

- £20,339 - £22,141 per annum
- Tycoch Campus, Swansea
- To report to the ALAM each morning to receive a supervision timetable for the day.
- In the short-term absence of a teacher, to register and supervise a class of students, ensuring they are engaged in learning activity that has been set by a teacher. This may include explaining the work to be completed and answering questions from students to ensure that they understand what is required of them.
- To feedback to the relevant teacher or ALAM to include any issues that may have arisen during the covered lessons.
- To assist with the availability of materials or activities for to ensure that all learners have access to the lesson's resources (e.g. photocopying relevant resources)
- Working towards a degree or Level 4 equivalent (Application)
- Experience of arranging activities to engage young people and promote good behaviour
- Confidence and ability to communicate clearly and effectively to different groups of people e.g. young people, parents, external organisations, academic staff
- Ability to define clear boundaries when working closely with young people
- 28 days (pro rata) annual leave, plus bank holidays, and the college is closed for two weeks over the Christmas period
