25 Hours a Week, 39 Weeks Per Year

The Head Teacher and Governing Body of St. Andrew’s Primary School are seeking to appoint a permanent part time caretaker (working term time only) who will have responsibility for the closing of the school site and ensuring that the school is kept clean and in a state of general good repair.

This post is a part-time time position working 25 hours per week between the hours of 2.00pm - 7.00pm (Monday - Friday).

Candidates will be expected:

- to be responsible for site security.
- to attend to the daily closing (including lettings) of the premises at the designated times.
- to assist with and carry out a range of minor maintenance duties.
- to ensure school grounds are kept clean and tidy (including picking up litter and emptying bins).
- to undertake basic cleaning duties as and when required (including cleaning windows).
- to replenish soap, toilet paper and towels in all lavatories as necessary.
- to provide a porterage service on site as necessary.
- to have responsibility as one of the designated key holders (this may require the need to attend call out at unsociable hours or at weekends to deal with security problems, or make emergency repairs or allow access for emergency repairs).
- to cover periods of leave of Premises Manager including providing access to premises for Contractors in school holidays.

There is the requirement for overtime hours to undertake additional jobs detailed above.

The appointment is offered on a part-time permanent contract, to start as soon as possible.

This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS).
