Pillgwenlly Primary School is a large, vibrant multi cultural primary school where both staff and pupils thrive. Pillgwenlly has a fully inclusive approach to education with a full time Nurture setting and a dedicated Learning Resource Base to support pupils with additional learning needs.
Pillgwenlly is an extremely exciting school to work in and is due to move to a new school site in November 2024. As a result of this expansion we are increasing the LRB provision.
The Headteacher and Governors are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and dedicated LRB Classroom Teacher, who is committed to children's wellbeing, learning and the raising of standards.
The whole school community is committed to establish a nurturing and respectful learning community which has a strong, and fully inclusive ethos.
The post will commence on 6th January 2025 and an SEN allowance is attached to this post.
The successful candidate will be appointed to teach in one of our Learning Resource Base classes which caters for pupils with a range of additional needs. We are looking to appoint a teacher who:
• Has successful recent experience of teaching children with a range of different additional learning needs
• Has excellent behaviour management skills
• Is able to plan and prepare bespoke, person-centred curriculum within a purposeful and nurturing environment,
• Communicates well with the whole school community and external agencies and is skilled at managing other adults within the classroom.
• Has the ability to use a range of approaches when teaching children with additional needs eg. TEACCH, PECS, Communication Boards, Sensory Circuits, Attention Autism, Intensive Interaction.
Has experience of working collaboratively with a range of multi agencies e.g, Speech and Language, OT, VI, HI, and Neurodevelopmental Teams.
