Cardiff and Vale College are looking for a Receptionist to be primarily based at our City Centre Campus in Dumballs Road but with an expectation to cover at all sites as and when required. As a Receptionist you will maintain a professional, pleasant and welcoming reception service. You will respond effectively and efficiently to all enquiries in a courteous and welcoming manner and resolving, where possible, all queries at source.. Whilst the role is primarily based in the City Centre Campus there will be an expectation to cover at other CAVC locations on an ad-hoc basis.
Whilst the ability to speak Welsh is not essential for the role, we would love to hear from candidates who are fluent and can engage with learners through the medium of Welsh.
As part of the role you will:
  • Meet and greet visitors to the College, issuing visitor passes and signposting appropriately
  • Direct visitors and learners to the most appropriate person to answer and resolve their queries
  • Respond effectively and efficiently to all communications channels as and when required
  • Maintain a clean and smart reception area at all times

  • Act as a point of contact between Estates and Health and Safety for any first aid related queries.
  • Deal with all post, parcel, estates and first aid enquiries
Successful candidates will have a sound educational background of at least GCSE Maths and English as well as demonstrate commensurate experience. You should have suitable experience of working in a busy reception environment handling a range of varied activities.

In return for your hard work and dedication to our learners we offer fantastic benefits including a generous pension scheme, cash health plan, employee assistance programme, access to our Cycle to Work, Headspace app and access to money saving benefits through our Reward Gateway scheme.

Applications are to be made using the Cardiff and Vale College application form only. The college welcomes applications in Welsh. Applications submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application in English. If we invite you to interview, let us know if you would like us to conduct the interview and assessment process in Welsh.
