Lliswerry High School – Teacher of Mathematics

Permanent post – Full time

Position commences 3rd June 2024, however we can accommodate an earlier start date.

The Governing Body of Lliswerry High School are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate to join our highly successful Maths Department. Lliswerry High School is a thriving, multi-cultural, 11-18 mixed comprehensive school on the eastern side of Newport close to the M4. We currently have a superb opportunity for a new team member to join us, working on a part time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an inspirational teacher of maths to make a positive difference to the lives and futures of our learners. We are looking for an NQT or experienced practitioner who will motivate and inspire our learners through their own passion for mathematics and lifelong learning. The successful candidate will teach across the age and ability range and will be a key part of our supportive and successful maths team. The ability to teach A Level is welcomed, but is not essential.

It is anticipated that the person appointed will:

• be an excellent classroom practitioner
• possess excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills
• demonstrate high standards of professionalism in all respects
• be a positive role model to colleagues and learners alike
• possess ambition, belief, resilience, determination and a sense of humour
• possess the ability to motivate and inspire learners and to build positive relationships
• have high expectations of themselves, colleagues and learners
• be committed to their own professional learning
• have the ability to develop excellent working relationships with all stakeholders
• be able to use data to support learner progress effectively
• be committed to the vision of our school

Please contact the school using the e-mail address or phone number shown in the application instructions if you have any queries, or would just like to discuss the post informally with the Headteacher or with the Leader of Learning for Maths.
