An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Systems Developer within the Information Services department at Cardiff and Vale College. This role will be based across sites.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, develop and maintain bespoke web/desktop applications to meet College needs.
- Design, develop and maintain College dashboards and reports to enable the analysis and interpretation of KPI data to a variety of audiences.
- Support, develop and maintain the College's MIS system in collaboration with other colleagues inside and outside of the department.
- Lead and support in the development and maintenance of the College's VLE alongside the Junior Systems Developer.
- Work with other College departments to ensure their data and system needs are met, acting as the main point of contact for queries and issues.
- Act as a liaison between the department and the wider College to ensure that colleagues understand their data, how to access it and to make suggestions for improvement.
- Proactively look for, and suggest improvements and solutions to, College processes and data/system challenges.
- Produce and maintain documentation and training materials for all systems and reports as required. Ensure that end users receive suitable training in the use of systems and reports.
- Act as a mentor and role model to other members of the team, encouraging and inspiring positive behaviours and practices, and calling out the negatives.
- Welsh language skills would be desirable for this role.
