Our Shared Vision

At Portmead Primary we strive to build a community where children feel safe, happy and are respectful. We recognise and celebrate the unique qualities of others and ourselves. We aim high in all we do and place no limits on what we aspire to achieve. Our bespoke creative curriculum provides our children with the knowledge skills and experiences that ignites their curiosity, sparks their imagination and inspires awe and wonder. We help our children to build resilience so they have the confidence, courage and self-belief to face whatever their futures may hold.
Above all this we promote kindness to each other.

'Work hard, be kind!'
'Gweithiwch yn galed, byddwych yn garedig!'

Portmead Primary School is situated on the outskirts of Swansea. The school is blessed with extensive grounds, which include a school garden and is the site of one of Wales' first 'Tiny Forests'. We have a Flying Start (Portmead Jaspers) and we have 2 STF classes for pupils with autism.

  • Be enthusiastic about maintaining the partnerships between pupils, parents, staff, governors and the wider community;
  • Implement and demonstrate a clear vision of the ongoing development of this successful primary school;
  • Be committed to further development of pupil voice, Rights Respecting Schools and Restorative Practice and
  • Be an effective people manager who is committed to their own and their teams' development.

The school can offer:
  • Happy, enthusiastic children who are eager to learn and are a pleasure to teach;
  • A friendly, dedicated and hard-working staff;
