Job Description
Grade 7 - £27,852 for 32.5 hours per week term time only for 45.8 weeks per annum equating to £21,489.80 pro rata rising to 46.8 weeks, £24,519.01 pro rata per annum after 5 years' service.
The Governing Body are keen to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Oasis worker who has a significant amount of community experience to lead and develop Trauma Informed Practice within our school and community.
This role will be a fixed term until August 25.
You will provide intensive support to young people aged 8 – 16 and their families, usually over a period of 6 – 12 weeks. The work builds on a family's strengths and introduces coping strategies.
Cases will span a wide range of issues including family conflict, absence from home, sexual exploitation, educational issues, anti-social behaviour, criminal exploitation, and substance abuse. Working closely with other agencies and local services, you will be on the front line of an approach that improves behaviours, relationships, confidence, aspirations, employability, living conditions, mental and physical health.
As a Trauma Informed Practitioner you will take on a portfolio of cases, working directly with young people and families in their homes, schools etc. This will involve preparing and delivering learning activities, monitoring pupils and recording and reporting on pupils' achievements, progress and development.
To work under the guidance of the Assistant Headteacher for Support for learning and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups/families, in or out of the classroom. This would include those requiring detailed and specialist knowledge in particular areas of trauma. Welsh language skills are not essential. Safeguarding and Child Protection are key priorities for Pembrokeshire's Education and Children's Service. We aim to support vulnerable children and young people to ensure they are as safe as they can possibly be.
