Senior Children and Families Worker

Cyngor Castell-nedd Port Talbot
Contract Type: Temporary - Grant funded until the end of March 2025

Hours: Full time - 37 hours per week

We are currently looking for a Senior Children and Families Team Worker to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for

The main duties of the post;
  • To provide team leadership to the children and families team. This to include the close supervision of the team.
  • To supervise the organisation and delivery of parenting programmes and informal parenting support.
  • To deputise for the manager at local and national meetings such as EIP Panel meetings and Strategic leads meetings and with other duties.
  • To deliver a range of parenting interventions and programmes
To actively participate in supporting the principles and practice of an equality of opportunity as laid down in the authority's Equal Opportunities Policy

You will have experience in/of;
  • Experience of supervising and team leading
  • Experience of devising team policies and procedure
  • Experience of monitoring and evaluating outcomes
  • Significant and practical experience of working with families with multiple and complex needs
  • Experience of lone working in a family home and in the community
  • Experience of delivering Parenting Programmes in a group and one to one setting.
Ideally you will have;
  • Minimum of Level 4 qualification or equivalent in relevant discipline
  • Supervision or management qualification level 3 or above.
  • Family Links Nurturing Programme Parent Group Leader Qualification or willingness to undertake the training
