About us
Our school is a Community Primary School with a Nursery attached. We have a strong and supportive Board of Governors, which includes representatives of the Vale of Glamorgan Council, parents, the local community and staff. We set very high standards across the school and offer a broad range of experiences and opportunities for our pupils.
Our school is fortunate to be located in a lovely rural setting, surrounded by farm land, countryside and the coast. We serve the local village and MOD base at St Athan.
The whole school community work in partnership to provide a bright, welcoming and stimulating learning environment to inspire and support our curriculum.

St Athan Primary School are seeking to appoint an experienced HLTA to lead our enthusiastic nursery team. This will be for 5 mornings per week. Our nursery runs mornings only at present and pupils attend on a part time basis.
About the Role
Post Reference (to be used on application form): SAPS-HLTA

Pay Details: Grade 6 SCP 14 - 19 £25409 - £27852 pro rata pro rata (39 weeks term time only)

Days / Hours per Week: 5 mornings per week (15 Hours)

Temporary Reason- Temporary Initially due to this being a new staffing structure

Application will close on the 30/5/23

Shortlisting will be on the 8/5/23

Interviews and Lesson Observations will be on the week beginning 12/6/23

About you
You will need:
• HLTA qualification
• Full DBS check: Enhanced Educational Workforce Council registration: It is a statutory requirement that applicants for this post are registered with EWC before they can begin working in our school.
• An excellent practitioner who will engage our pupils in authentic learning opportunities and display a strong understanding of current educational reform.
• A high level of ICT and confidence in the delivery of lessons with a desire to develop new approaches to teaching and learning.
• High expectations of behaviour with a commitment to nurture our pupils in order for them to achieve their full potential.
• To be hard working with high standards for themselves and expectations of others
• To be organised, able to work well with colleagues and to meet deadlines.

DBS Check Required: Enhanced
