The Governing Body are seeking to appoint an experienced and highly competent person to undertake caretaking duties at Morriston Primary School. The successful candidate must have:
  • the skills to be able to maintain and develop the appearance of our school inside and outside (carpentry and plumbing, gardening skills, would be an advantage)
  • the responsibility of site security of our school including key holder duties
  • the skills to manage health and safety and the ability to spot potential hazards to young and vulnerable children
  • enthusiasm, self-motivation and an ability to work using their own initiative
  • the ability to maintain accurate records of site inspection, work undertaken
  • good communication skills with adults and children is essential
  • be willing to contribute to the broader life of the school community

Any previous experience as caretaker would be an advantage. The ability to drive and ownership of a car would be desirable. This is a temporary post subject to a satisfactory 6 months' probation period.
The ability to PAT test would be an advantage.
Additional paid days may be required during school holidays in agreement with the Headteacher.
