About the Job

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the PRU for the appointment of two dynamic and inspiring L2 teaching assistants. The successful candidates must be resilient, creative and adaptable with a desire to become key members of the school team. The role will involve working under the guidance of teaching staff and members of the School Leadership Team in order to support the delivery of the curriculum at KS2, KS3 and KS4.

You will work under guidance, to provide support in addressing the needs of students who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning. You will support individuals and groups of students to enable access to learning and assist the teacher in the management of students within the classroom and beyond. You will occasionally supervise whole classes during the short term absence of the teacher. Outreach work and liaising with and visiting mainstream school may also be a part of this role

You will have NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification. Patience, understanding, a caring attitude and the ability to provide support and build positive relationships is essential in this role.

You will be a team player who is able to organise and plan your own time with initiative. If you are motivated by how children learn and are able to inspire our children then we look forward to hearing from you.     

Holidays must be taken during school closure periods. The appointment process will involve an interview with members of the school leadership team and a selection of Management Committee Members, as well as pupils.

The Bridge Achievement Centre is a pupil referral unit (PRU) which offers a distinctive small school environment where each individual is well known, listened to and encouraged to be the best they can be. Serving around 100 students (across a number of settings) enables us to maintain an inclusive and nurturing community atmosphere, where staff work with students to develop the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to reach their full potential.
