The Governing Body is seeking to appoint an inspirational and committed Assistant Headteacher to join our senior leadership team. The post holder will play a key role in the strategic development of teaching and learning across the school and will lead on the ongoing development of core skills provision . We are therefore looking for an outstanding teacher with a comprehensive understanding of, and genuine interest in, the latest thinking and research in the relevant fields. The successful candidate will have experience of translating academic theory into concrete strategies and will be able to communicate their vision for teaching & learning clearly and enthusiastically to a range of stakeholders. They will also have a proven track record of improving both provision and outcomes at department or whole school level, and will be familiar with a range of effective leadership strategies. The role will also encompass general responsibilities within the senior leadership team such as line management and dealing with day-to-day pastoral issues - experience in these areas would therefore be beneficial. font-size:12pt">West Monmouth is an 11-16 mixed comprehensive school serving Pontypool and the surrounding area. The school has expanded rapidly in recent years and currently has just under 1200 pupils on roll.
