We are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant at The John Frost School, who is part of a team of three. The successful candidate will have experience of working with children who experience a range of barriers to learning and worked alongside them and their parents to overcome them.
This is a very exciting and rewarding role. You will be supporting children who sometimes find it difficult to cope with the everyday rigours of school life, including young carers, those with low self-esteem, as well as social and emotional challenges and students with additional learning needs. The role will appeal to those who want to make a difference and who will go the extra-mile because it matters.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Deputy Headteacher who has oversight for student wellbeing and an Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for the behaviour programme Ready to Learn. You will work alongside two other Teaching Assistants who make up the team within the Pastoral Hub, which aims to support our students in reaching their potential.
We are looking to appoint someone who can demonstrate:
how their experience of working with young people is put to good use
experience of working with students experiencing disadvantages and their needs
understand mentoring strategies
knowledge of behaviour management and disciplines
able to communicate effectively and appropriately with all members of the school community
ability to work in partnership with parents and carers to discuss student progress, attendance, welfare and behaviour
promote high expectations of all students
ability to effectively use ICT packages
Closing date: Thursday 5 February 2026
