OVERVIEW:
Pengelli Primary is situated in the village of Grovesend. We are a happy, caring, and inclusive small school at the heart of a growing community.
The governing body is seeking to appoint a motivational, experienced, enthusiastic and exemplary professional to work alongside the Headteacher by taking a lead role in managing and developing our school.
The right candidate for this deputy headship will have a proven track record AND can plan strategically, have the ability to motivate and inspire a varied team of teachers in new strategies to improve teaching and learning over the whole school. The successful candidate must also be an excellent teaching practitioner and hold high expectations of what all pupils can achieve.

- Lead the school in the absence of the Headteacher on management decisions.
- Be an enthusiastic, inspirational, innovative leader with proven teaching and management skills;
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Be committed to maintaining high standards and continuous improvement;
- Be active in maintaining and developing the partnerships between pupils, parents, staff, governors and the wider community;
- Support the ongoing development of this successful primary school;
- Be committed to further development of pupil voice and extracurricular opportunities.
- Be an effective people manager who is committed to their own and others' development.
- Work closely with curriculum leads to enrich and improve planning and delivery across all subjects and year groups. Lead the implementation of the New Curriculum and oversee learning
- Be an outstanding teacher across the primary age range
- Have the ability to look beyond the school gates and develop positive, effective relationships with families and the wider community.
