We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and caring Teaching Assistant (Level 3) at Maes Ebbw Special School. The advertised job is for 32.5 hours per week (5 days) for a Key Stage 3/4/5 class with severe learning difficulties – although this is where the current vacancy is, you may be asked to work in any class within the school.
The role will involve working with pupils with a range of special educational needs of differing ages. The role requires that you support pupils in class as well as assisting their care needs. As part of this role you may be required to cover short term absence for a Teacher.
You will need to have experience of working with children in a school setting as well as experience of supporting children with additional needs, as well as the Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
Holidays must be taken during school closure periods. The appointment process will involve an interview with members of the school leadership team and a selection of Governors.
This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS).
