Cardiff Council's Education Catering Service provides over 28,000 nutritious meals daily across 115 primary, secondary, and special education schools, supporting the educational attainment and well-being of our children and young people.
About the job
At Cardiff Council's Education Catering Service, we believe that every child deserves access to nutritious, delicious meals that fuel their learning and growth. As the Area Account Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operations of our school meals service across a designated group of school kitchens. You will lead a dedicated team, ensuring the efficient delivery of meals that meet the highest standards of quality and nutrition. Your leadership will be crucial in driving our vision forward and making a tangible impact on the lives of thousands of children and young people.
You will oversee school kitchens to ensure compliance with standards, manage crises, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships. You will lead and develop multiple site-based managers, promote healthy school meals, contribute to menu planning, support transformational change, ensure financial efficiency, and develop governance and training strategies to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals to children and young people.

What We Are Looking For From You
We are seeking someone with proven experience in a management role, preferably within the food service or education sector. Strong leadership and team management abilities are essential, along with a genuine passion for improving the lives of children and young people. The ideal candidate will have the ability to develop and implement effective strategies, excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and adaptability and problem-solving skills to navigate a dynamic environment.
