Pillgwenlly Primary School is situated in the docks area of inner-city Newport. The School serves a multi-cultural diverse community and reflects 38 different languages spoken.
This is an exciting opportunity for Learning Support Assistants to join our new School building and dedicated team of staff. The new building provides first-class facilities including a 4G Sports Pitch, where our growing community can thrive and flourish. These roles are very important to our school.
The Executive Headteacher, Head of School and Governing Body of Pillgwenlly Primary School are seeking to appoint Learning Support Assistants who will motivate and enthuse our pupils to reach their full potential.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
The ability to work as part of a team
An adaptable, flexible, patient and professional approach to their role
Experience of working with pupils requiring additional support
Good communication and interpersonal skills
A commitment to working with children in order for them to reach their full potential
High standards in basic skills
A love of learning
The ability to use their own initiative
An excellent understanding of safeguarding principles
The successful candidate will:
Work under the guidance of teaching staff and or/members of the school leadership team
Support individuals and groups of pupils to enable access to learning
Assist the teacher with the management of pupils in the classroom and beyond
Assist with pupils at break and lunchtimes
