Performance Manager – Apprenticeship department

Due to business growth, we are looking to recruit a Performance Manager to lead a team of Assessors to achieve contractual performance on our Apprenticeship contract. If you experience in Management, we would love to hear from you!

Salary: £28,000 - £31,500 dependent on skills, qualifications & experience
Base: Itec House, Cardiff
Contract type:- Full time, working Monday to Friday 9:00am to 4:30pm


What are the core responsibilities of this role?
• Managing a team of assessors to ensure that contractual compliance is achieved in both compliance and learner achievement.
• Driving performance and, in conjunction with the senior management team, continuously review and develop the delivery model and transform the operation, to ensure it meets the needs of all learners across all routes.
• Accountable for contractual compliance through quality measures and auditable processes.
• Responsible for effective team and caseload management providing updates and feedback on performance to the Contract Manager/Head of Apprenticeships.
• Accountable for conducting monthly 1-1’s with assessors to maximise performance, compliance, and training requirements, where under performance is identified an action plan needs to be completed to address area of concern.
• Responsible for handling and escalating, as required, learner/employer complaints in line with internal policy.
• Responsible for working in partnership with the Quality team to implement all quality improvements such as the Estyn framework and Welsh action plan.
• Accountable for continual evaluation, self-assessment, and quality improvement planning.
• Accountable for leading and implementing appropriate and effective changes.
• Responsible for management information analysis and reporting.
• Accountable for implementing improvements in delivery and practice in conjunction with the IQA.
• Responsible for working closely with the Health & Safety Manager ensuing all health and safety matters are reported and resolved in a timely fashion
• Accountable for the appropriate and effective application of all HR policies, procedures, and practices
• Line management responsibilities of direct reports

Essential

• Previous management experience
• Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams
• Meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Full driving licence with use of own vehicle
• Flexible in approach.
• Ability to work under pressure


Desirable
• Work based learning experience
• Management / Team Leading qualification or equivalent
• Safeguarding experience
• Ability to speak Welsh
• Knowledge of public funded training schemes


This role is subject to a DBS check, the cost of the DBS check will be met by the company

The successful appointment will need to be self-registered with the Education Workforce Council as a
Work-Based Learning Practitioner
