About The ServiceThe T.E.A.M.@Severn work with learners who are unable to access school due to health and exceptional circumstances. The team work across the City in community settings and council buildings. The team works in close partnership with learners, families, schools, EOTAS providers, other professionals within the LA, the Health Service and other statutory and voluntary agencies in Cardiff. The purpose of the service is to provide a tailored engaging education for our children and young people short term, as they transition into full time education, training or employment.
About the job
The Skills and Support Senior Teaching Assistant will join an innovative team who work directly with children and young people. They will plan and deliver bespoke and creative sessions which challenge the learners and enable them to progress. The successful candidate will need to have a non-judgemental approach, demonstrating empathy and understanding as they will be working one to one and groups of children, young people and their families who may be experiencing challenge and trauma.

What We Are Looking For From You
The successful candidate will need to have a high level of literacy, numeracy and IT skills. Experience of working with children and young people including those with additional learning needs (ALN) will be required. A comprehensive understanding of safeguarding is essential.
We are looking for highly organised, motivated and passionate individuals who can join our dynamic, forward-thinking team to improve outcomes for the vulnerable children and young people.
The ability to travel across Cardiff throughout the day is essential. The ability to drive a minibus is desirable.

Additional information
This role is part-time at 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. The advertised salary is based on a full-time role (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). The actual salary will be lower than the advertised salary because of the part-time hours and weeks worked.
This post has a requirement for registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
