The Governors are seeking to appoint temporary part-time Teaching Assistants (30 hours per week) as soon as possible working in the ALN department within Bishop Gore School. The post will be temporary until September 2025 TBC in the first instance as.
Teaching Assistants provide a high level of learning support and guidance to pupils with varying degrees of ALN. Therefore, experience in this sort of role is strongly desirable but not essential. The Teaching Assistant will be required to support pupils in mainstream classes providing support to the class teachers. The Teaching Assistant will need to be flexible and prepared to work to suit the child's learning needs. This post has a First Aid responsibility. Training will be provided.
The minimum qualification required for this post is a level 2 or equivalent standard in literacy, numeracy and IT skills. The role will require an applicant who can relate well with young people and has a good understanding of child development and the learning process.
Bishop Gore School is a popular, very successful 11-18 comprehensive school. In our recent ESTYN inspection, our school was again judged to be "Excellent".
