About the job
An exciting opportunity has become available within Cardiff Council's Education directorate for the newly created position of Service Finance Lead. This post is based within the Youth Service and will, through the management of financial administrative business support, contribute to the provision of an efficient, high quality, continuously improving range of services to young people within the city.
The successful candidate will be part of the recently restructured Youth Service, based within the newly formed Performance & Governance department. The aim of the role will be to deliver on a range of complex financial and administration tasks as required to meet the service needs. This will include providing Senior Management as well as Locality Teams with accurate financial information to aid in delivering a budget that is within the Council's expectation for the service area.
A clear understanding and background in Finance Management alongside experience of working in a fast-paced, flexible office environment is essential for this role.
What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and professional Service Finance Lead who will encourage creativity and inspire innovation throughout the workforce. The successful post holder will be an excellent communicator capable of delivering complex financial information in easy-to-understand formats, and able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
The successful candidate will have a good general education level alongside a further Qualification in financial management (e.g., AAT). Experience and knowledge of using the SAP procurement system, or other relevant ERP software is considered essential for this role, as is the willingness to support teams and work across various Youth Service locations around the city.
