About The Service
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed individual with excellent customer care skills to join the Project SEARCH team.

The successful candidate for this role will intensively support a core group of young people accessing work placements and employment opportunities.

About the job
Project SEARCH is a one-year supported internship programme for students with learning disabilities, difficulties and/or autism, who require supported intensive, repetitive skills building opportunities to prepare for employment.

The Youth Employment Mentor will predominantly be based at the Heath Hospital in Cardiff, supporting the young people to successfully seek long term sustainable employment opportunities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing personalised action plans for learners, act as a point of contact for queries and assist with employability skills. They will develop relationships with key partners, stakeholders, and third sector organisations, with the aim of supporting individuals into employment.

What We Are Looking For From You
You will have experience of working with young people on a face-to-face basis and a commitment to providing a high quality customer service. You will have good communication and IT skills, and the ability to resolve disputes in a positive and constructive manner.

You will work well in a team and have a flexible approach to engagement with young people.

You will understand the issues young people may have; and will have a caring and empathetic approach when providing employment support.

Additional information
This post is part time and will work 14.8 hours per week. The pro-rata salary is £11,910 per annum.

This post is temporary until 31/03/2025.

This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced check.

Evening and/or weekend working may be required.

This vacancy is suitable for post share.
