Fixed Term Contract until 30th April 2025, Job Share, 18 hours 30 minutes per week
Bassaleg School Governing Body are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and efficient Caretaker to join the site team as part of a job share and oversee community use of the school in evenings and on weekends. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Business and Site Manager and will have responsibility for the security and maintenance of the school site, with particular emphasis on areas available for community use. In conjunction with the Director of Business and Site Manager, ensure that the school complies with all health and safety regulations. The role will also include cleaning responsibilities for areas used for community use.
The roles are directly linked to community use of the school and as such the hours require flexibility. It is anticipated that a job share will operate covering bookings between 4.30pm to 9.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday.

Full training and support will be provided (The role will involve elements of lone working).
Annual leave will primarily need to be taken during school holidays although there is some flexibility to accommodate other requests and although this is offered as a Fixed Term Contract initially, there may be an opportunity to extend based on the planned expansion of Community Use at the school.
This appointment is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
