A Bit About Us - Our school is nestled right in the heart of the community in Newport, South Wales, providing education for children aged between 3 years and 11 years and is within the John Frost cluster of primary schools.

We are a super-diverse school, serving a multi-cultural and multi-lingual community. We are seeking an innovative Head Teacher who can provide inspirational leadership for the school. Our very positive Estyn report last year, remarked that, ‘St Woolos is an effective and caring school, which holds the community it serves at the heart of all it does’’ and ’There is a strong focus on inclusion and ensuring equality for all, whilst celebrating diversity.’

This very successful school demonstrates the passion and commitment of staff who ensure that the school is part of the community and that pupil wellbeing is paramount.

Who we are looking for:

The Governing Body are committed to appointing a Head Teacher who:

- Can Lead our school: Do you have lots of great ideas but can also listen to what our children have to say?

- Cares About Us: We want a Head Teacher who really cares about every single child at our school.
- Celebrates Our Differences: It’s important that our Head Teacher loves learning about the diversity of our local communities and helps us learn about each other too.
- Keeps Us Safe: We want a Head Teacher who makes sure pupils are always looked after and that our school stays a happy place.
- Inspires Us: We want to dream big! It would be amazing if our new Head Teacher could inspire pupils to be the best they can be and help them achieve their goals, no matter how big or small.
- Motivates Us: with a vision that ensures that the school continues to develop as a centre of excellence for education.
- Can Build: on the positive relationships of mutual respect with pupils, parents, staff and the Governing Body.
- Is Committed: to ensuring that the school remains at the heart of the community, building relationships and embracing the diversity of the local area.

Governors will support the successful candidate in all aspects of school life to ensure the continued success of this wonderful school.
