Job Description

Teaching Assistant Access to Learning Emotional Support Assistant

Fixed term post expected to last for 1 year

Required as soon as possible

We are looking for a dynamic, ambitious, caring and enthusiastic individual to work with our learners who have a range of needs.

Grade 4 - £23,114 for 30 hours per week term time only for 45.8 weeks per annum equating to £16,462.25 pro rata rising to 46.8 weeks, £16,821.68 pro rata per annum after 5 year's service.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise and provide particular support for learners, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes
  • Establish constructive relationships with learners and interact with them according to individual needs
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all learners
  • Encourage learners to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
  • Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-discipline, self-esteem and independence
  • Provide feedback to learners in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher
  • Supporting learners at transition and those with emotional issues
  • 1-1 appointments with learners offering emotional, social and behavioral support
  • Restorative Practice
  • Support for Teachers, Curriculum and the School
