Monnow Primary School are looking to appoint a level 2 Teaching Assistant to work in our innovative team.

We are looking to appoint an individual who has proven to have a commitment and passion for pedagogy. Here at Monnow the sense of Team Work underpins all that we do and we are looking for someone who will further add to the team dynamics. The role requires a practitioner who is passionate, enthusiastic and who will bring a vibrancy to complement our team. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills with a can-do attitude and caring approach.

You will have experience of effictively working with children in a school setting as well as experience of supporting children with additional needs.

Skills/Qualifications:

* A passionate and positive, kind attitude towards working with children
* Be innovative and creative in order to develop our learners’ curiosities
* Understanding of play-based approach to children's learning and development
* Have high expectations for all our children
* The successful candidate will be required to work under the guidance of the
* Class Teacher and will need to be committed to helping each child achieve their full potential and be sensitive to children’s needs.
* Be able to teach and model good language skills for phonics instruction and reading is essential
* You will need to have good communication and interpersonal skills as well as genuine commitment to the overall care and development of all pupils.

Holidays must be taken during school closure periods. The appointment process will involve an interview with members of the school leadership team and a selection of Governors.

This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS).

Hours Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 8.30am to 3.30pm – Wednesday 8.30am to 4.30pm to attend staff meetings.

Shortlisted applicants will be required to plan and deliver a 15 to 20-minute activity with a small group of children, which will develop learners’ language and curiosities.
