The governing body are looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant that shares the Alway Primary School vision. Our school motto is ‘Always feel Proud’ this relates to every area of school life – learning, teaching, behaviour, environment, and atmosphere.

Alway Primary currently holds the award for National Nurturing School, experience and/or training in Thrive, ELSA (Emotional literacy support assistants) and strong IT skills are desirable.

The successful candidate will

• have a proven track record of working successfully as a Level 3 within Foundation Phase/ Key Stage Two and be prepared to work in either.
• be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and resilient.
• nurture pupils to reach their full potential.
• will supervise whole classes during unplanned/short term absence of the class teacher.
• be committed to developing pupils as independent learners and thinkers.
• be a good communicator and team member, who is caring, flexible and approachable.
• be able to work collaboratively, contributing to the teachers planning cycle.
• be reliable and able to take responsibility.
• Assist children with personal care routines such as toileting and changing nappies if necessary.
