To commence Monday 2nd September 2024 - 27th April 2025 (pending all safeguarding and recruitment checks).

Applications are invited from dynamic, experienced and suitably qualified teachers for the post of Maternity Cover Teacher in this successful primary school. The position will likely be within a Year 3 Class.

Aberbargoed Primary School caters for the educational needs of boys and girls aged from three to eleven. We are an English medium community school seeking to develop our provision for all learners, including adults, through collaborative work with our partner schools and other agencies.

Aberbargoed Primary School is fortunate to have a large number of spacious and modern rooms. Eight classrooms are used for the day to day teaching and learning which goes on at the school and each of these areas is served by a shared work space, cloakroom and separate toilet facilities for boys and girls. There are additional facilities for adults and the disabled. The school has a spacious hall which is used for a wide range of activities including Physical Education, assembly, concerts and dining.

Aberbargoed Primary is seeking to appoint enthusiastic, engaging and creative teachers to join the school’s team. The successful candidates will work with the existing Senior Leadership Team, teachers and teaching assistants at our friendly and inclusive school to develop and provide high quality teaching, learning and support for pupils.

The successful candidates will demonstrate:
  • A proven record of excellent classroom practice;
  • Good experience of working with children with a range of significant additional learning needs including social, emotional, communication needs and demonstrate an understanding of ACEs and trauma informed approaches.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Very good understanding of the skills curriculum and professional learning;
  • A very good understanding of curriculum and reform;
  • A very positive attitude to innovation and change;
  • An excellent track record of working closely with stakeholders and the wider community.
  • Thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection processes and procedures.
  • The ability to carry out the duties of a class teacher as outlined in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document, The Professional Standards Document, and the ‘Teacher’ job description.
