Maindee Primary School are looking to appoint two level 2 teaching assistants to work with pupils with additional learning needs. One position is offered on a permanent basis and the other is offered on a Fixed Term Basis initially until December 2024.

We are looking for someone with experience of working with primary age pupils who has a proven track record of developing excellent relationships and applying the principles of nurture to their work. Knowledge and experience of supporting pupils with ALN needs, specifically visual or hearing impairments or pupils who have social and communication difficulties is preferable.

We are looking for a highly motivated, flexible and well qualified individual to support the work of the school who is willing to learn. You must be calm and approachable and understand the importance of developing high quality relationships in order to support pupils effectively. You must be passionate about wanting each child to experience success every day and have the knowledge, skills and experience to contribute to the work of the wider school team.

The broad outline of the role will be working to support a pupil with additional needs. Full training will be provided to ensure that you are able to meet the needs of the child effectively as part of the wider school team.

If successful you can expect to work as part of a highly supportive team who work together to support a wide range of diverse needs across the school. You will have access to bespoke support both within school and if necessary from outside of the school to enable you to thrive in your role.
