Ysgol Y Deri is a local authority day special school maintained by the Vale of Glamorgan
local authority. Currently there are over 475 pupils on roll aged between 3 and 19 years. All pupils have statements of special educational needs for severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, moderate learning difficulties or autistic spectrum disorders.
Ysgol Y Deri are looking to recruit dynamic and energising teachers to join our amazing team. We believe school should be unmissable and audacious.
We are looking for a number of teachers who are willing and able to turn their hand to a variety of subjects. Someone able to transform challenging curriculum content into engaging and life affirming experiences. Someone who recognises the importance of both high support and high challenge. We have several temporary posts available across our primary and secondary departments. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team who put pupils at the centre of everything we do.
About the Role
Pay Details: Teachers Mainscale +SEN allowance
Days / Hours per Week: Full Time (Monday- Friday 8.30pm - 3.30pm)
Permanent / Temporary: Temporary contract - maternity cover
Description:
This is an amazing opportunity for either primary or secondary trained top-quality teachers who already have the skills to adapt their teaching, someone who are prepared and excited to take on something completely different.
Whilst a background in special needs is not essential, a strong understanding of the curriculum, how it might be adapted and how it can be developed to enthuse all learners will be high on the list of requirements.
