About us
Our school is a Community primary school with a nursery attached. We have a strong and supportive board of governors, which includes representatives of the Vale of Glamorgan Council, parents, the local community and staff. We set very high standards across the school and offer a broad range of experiences and opportunities for our pupils.

Our school is fortunate to be located in a lovely rural setting, surrounded by farm land, countryside and coast. We serve the local village and MOD base at St Athan.

The whole school community work in partnership to provide a bright, welcoming and stimulating learning environment to inspire and support our curriculum.

About the role
Pay Details: Grade 1 SCP 1
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 5 hours per week / term time
Main Place of Work: St Athan Primary School

Description:
• Responsible for providing free breakfast in accordance with the Food Safety Act 1990, The Food Safety (general food hygiene) Regulations 1995, and all other legislative requirements regarding food hygiene.
• To operate the breakfast club in accordance with WG guidelines
• To be able to perform all aspects of breakfast club duties as requested by senior supervisor / breakfast club coordinator
• Comply with Health and Safety and Hygiene Regulations
• Take part in the on-going training plan
• As and when directed by the senior supervisor, take part in the preparation of all food in accordance with current legislation
• Where appropriate, assume the duties and responsibilities of the senior supervisor as and when required, and/or carry out duties at the request of the senior leadership team
• Ensure compliance with the Council's Financial Regulations, Standing Orders, Policies and Procedures
• To implement the principles of the Council's Equal Opportunity Policy whilst carrying out the above duties
• To adhere to Health and Safety legislation / relevant Council policies and procedures and to take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may be adversely affected by your acts / omissions. In addition, you will undertake any duties with regards to fire safety evacuation commensurate with your role.
• To implement the principles of the Council's Environment Policy while carrying out the above duties.
• To report without delay any safeguarding concerns to the appropriate safeguarding officer.
• Such other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the grade and in accordance with the general character of the job as may reasonably be required by the Chief Officer from time to time.

You will need:
• Limited cooking skills to provide breakfasts (toast)
• Ability to assist in all areas of breakfast club to achieve the required standards
• Be able to use own initiative in the day to day running of the breakfast club

• Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate
• Able to work school term time
