Contract: Full Time, Maternity Cover until February 2025
Location: Cardiff and Vale
Salary: £23,152 - £23,930 per annum

We have an exciting opportunity for an Information Services Assistant within the Examinations Department at Cardiff and Vale College.

Reporting into the Examinations Officer, you will be responsible for providing support for all aspects of the department including the following:
  • Undertaking general office duties, including registrations, exam entries and claiming of results.
  • Responding to general enquiries from staff and students, as and when required in particular during examination and results periods.
  • Ensuring the above is all completed in accordance with the Welsh Government and Awarding Body requirements.
  • Update the central student system to ensure all withdrawn/transferred learners are no longer active on their course, and that completed learners are processed accurately.
  • Compliance with JCQ and college procedures when preparing for and during examinations.
  • Invigilating examinations where necessary, giving instructions to students, resolving any problems and assisting the Examinations Manager in the organising of invigilators.
  • Scanning and filing of certificates, to be kept for the purposes of audit and/or inspection, and any freedom of information requests.
  • Undertaking similar duties as above, to support other department, outside the main department of employment, as required by the Examinations Manager.
  • Welsh language skills would be desirable for this post.
The successful applicant will have a sound educational background or demonstrable commensurate experience. The ideal applicant must have a successful track record of delivery within the further education sector and have the ability to communicate complex issues to a wide range of audiences.
