The Governing Body of St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Primary School are seeking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher who is a committed practising Catholic who has the Gospel values at the heart of everything you do and who will lead by the example of your own faith.

St. Joseph’s is a thriving, friendly school dedicated to the success of its children. We provide full-time education, currently for 211 pupils between the ages of 4 and 11 years. We are a Roman Catholic, Voluntary Aided school in the trusteeship of the Archdiocese of Cardiff.

Estyn in February 2019 recognised:

Our Deputy Headteacher will:

• Be a committed, practising Catholic, who has a clear understanding of the distinctive nature of a Catholic School and is willing to take an active role in the life and mission of the School
• Be joyful and positive with a good sense of humour who will cherish and support the ethos of our school
• Be a strategic thinker who can articulate a vision to promote and inspire the highest standards of teaching, learning and wellbeing
• An experienced school leader who is innovative and knowledgeable; confident to lead the school in areas identified such as safeguarding, curriculum development, assessment and specific curriculum areas, e.g., Religious Education, Health and Wellbeing
• Be an experienced and excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations of children’s achievement, attainment and behaviour.
• Inspire and motivate our staff and children whilst making them feel valued and supported
• Be an effective communicator who leads by example
• Have high expectations and aspirations and will promote and celebrate the achievements of all our children.
• Be committed to build on existing relationships with parents, the Parish, the Diocese, Local Authority and wider community whilst fostering new relationships
