Cardiff Youth Service offers a range of provisions across the city for young people aged 11-25.

Cardiff Youth Service consists of a talented and enthusiastic team of professional youth workers & youth support workers who operate across the city. This set up consists of youth centres, specialist provisions, youth mentoring and street based youth work teams that all provide a wide variety of creative opportunities and experiences that encourage the participation and development of young people in communities.

Cardiff Youth Service promotes a strong connection between targeted and universal youth work that ensures there is a consistent offer of support to young people when they need it.

About the job
Provision base: Llanrumney Youth Club
Days/Times: Monday and Wednesday evenings 6-9pm (term time only)

The post holder will become part of a team of youth workers based at Llanrumney Youth Club that plan, deliver and evaluate a curriculum of activities for young people aged 11-19.

The role also requires the successful candidate to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with young people and engage in the co-production of the delivery of an informal and non-formal curriculum.

Due to the nature of youth work, and supporting a young person led programme, there will be a requirement to support events/residential/visits outside of the hours set. These will be negotiated as needed.

What We Are Looking For From You
The post holder will be responsible for supporting young people to develop holistically, working with them to facilitate their personal, social and educational development, to enable them to develop their voice, influence and place in society and to reach their full potential.

We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic youth workers or youth support workers who will encourage creativity and innovation to inspire and motivate young people on a daily basis.

We are looking for youth workers who have positive attitudes and resilience to be able to impact positively on the lives of young people.

The successful candidate will hold or be working towards a relevant professional qualification in youth work and have a proven track record of working with young people to secure positive outcomes.

Additional information
Salary: T00 15 (£29,603 per annum) PRO RATA

This post is part time and will work 6 hours per week (term time only). The salary shown however relates to 37 hours per week and will therefore be pro-rata'd accordingly.
