Teacher of Health and Wellbeing (Girls' PE) - Croesyceiliog School

Torfaen Local Authority

Cyflog: MPS \/ UPS

Our Health and Wellbeing team is a dynamic group of dedicated professionals committed to promoting the physical, emotional, and social development of every learner. We work collaboratively across the school to create an inclusive environment where pupil are supported to achieve their full potential.

Health and Wellbeing is delivered as a discrete subject throughout Key Stage 3, following the principles of the Curriculum for Wales. Lessons take place in well-equipped facilities designed to encourage active participation and engagement. The team sets very high expectations for all learners, led by the Leader of Faculty and two Heads of Department. The faculty delivers a range of subjects such as PE and Health and Wellbeing lessons at KS3. WJEC GCSE PE and Welsh Baccalaureate are taught at KS4 as well as Public Services, BTEC Sport and BTEC Sweet.

We also have high expectations for staff to contribute to our extensive extra-curricular sports programme, which plays a vital role in promoting active lifestyles and enriching the pupil experience beyond the classroom.

Within our Health and Wellbeing Area of Learning and Experience (AoLE), staff share a wealth of expertise and best practice. Collaboration and professional dialogue are central to our approach, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation in teaching and learning. New staff benefit from a comprehensive induction programme, including a dedicated mentor and tailored support to meet individual needs. All teaching staff are provided with a school-issued 2-in-1 laptop to support planning and delivery.

The successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing development of the Health and Wellbeing curriculum and teach across both key stages. At Croesyceiliog, our ethos of 'Learning, Respect and Ambition' underpins everything we do, inspiring pupil to thrive academically and personally. For staff, we offer a positive working environment, opportunities for professional growth, a strong team culture, and recognition for excellence.
