About The Service
The Inclusion Service work with, support and coordinate services for children with additional needs and disabilities, their families and settings/schools to ensure that children access their entitlement with smooth transitions into a range of settings. We work in partnership with parents, education services, and other professionals in education and health.

The Inclusion Team monitors and supports schools/settings to successfully include all children with additional needs and disabilities to access their entitlement, environment and make progress.

About the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ALN Data and Research Officer, working as part of the wider Inclusion Team within the Education Service and with partners in many different agencies.

In this role you will be responsible for development and maintenance of core data and management information systems within the Inclusion Service.

You will prepare high quality management and performance information for senior managers, Welsh Government and staff teams as required, ensuring the quality and reliability of data being used across the service and directorate. You will work closely with the ALN Project Manager to develop and maintain effective systems for monitoring quality and impact for ALN/ inclusion including:
  • Maximising use of the ONE system to store and process ALN data
  • Ensuring effective use and future development of the database and issuing advice and guidance.
  • Tracking placements and financial commitments outside Cardiff LA maintained sector
  • design and implement data checking / validation processes to ensure the accuracy of data held on ONE, and data used to evaluate effectiveness of ALN provision

You will be required to maintain confidentiality at all times and build effective working relationships with support teams across the Education Directorate.

We are looking for a highly organised, motivated and passionate individual who can join our dynamic forward-thinking team to improve outcomes for children. We are looking for a highly organised, 'can do' individual with excellent data management skills, and experience working under pressure and to strict deadlines. You will need to work effectively as part of a team and be flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs of the service.
